a. Fahrenheit 451 Underground Quote Major Assignment Submission Window ---> February 6-10. The most important aspect of the project is your response. Your response should be a well supported and developed "case" for why your book should be saved for posterity in this underground quote movement. What is special about your book, what lessons/morals are learned through your book, etc. that make it worthy of saving. The quote you select is demonstrative of a piece you would potentially memorize if you were to memorize, just as Montag and the other intellectuals did, in order to preserve the book.

There are short essays to read - "Why Women Have to Work", "The Need for Nurses", and "Who Killed Benny Paret?" Each essay has a a couple of questions after and the answers. Read these and understand why the answers are what they are. While reading the essays--be sure to critically annotate the essay as we typically examine a response by marking: the thesis, causes and effects (support and elaboration), transitions, closing sentence, etc. ---------------> (F 12/02).
