a. Fahrenheit 451 Underground Quote Major Assignment Submission Window ---> February 6-10. The most important aspect of the project is your response. Your response should be a well supported and developed "case" for why your book should be saved for posterity in this underground quote movement. What is special about your book, what lessons/morals are learned through your book, etc. that make it worthy of saving. The quote you select is demonstrative of a piece you would potentially memorize if you were to memorize, just as Montag and the other intellectuals did, in order to preserve the book.

Mrs. Jenkins was out sick today and there was a sub. Students read, annotated, and responded to questions in their Reader's Guides for Fahrenheit 451. It is my understanding from more than one English teacher that students were EXCEPTIONAL for the sub today--If you are so good others are noticing..that's is OUTSTANDING. I am so very honored and proud of how respectful you were today! THANK YOU!!

Read these and understand why the answers are what they are. While reading the essays--be sure to critically annotate the essay as we typically examine a response by marking: the thesis, causes and effects (support and elaboration), transitions, closing sentence, etc. ---------------> (M 12/05).
